Think Themes!

The primary goal of this handbook is to help guide teachers in using and implementing a thematic approach. It includes the process taken in developing and condensing broad themes into more specific topics with lessons developmentally appropriate for prekindergarten through third grade students.

Using a thematic approach enables teachers to integrate content, literacy and language development. Teachers are able to plan cohesive activities that lend themselves to natural language development, academic content knowledge and bi-literacy development.
